Police Dismiss Inspector Over ₦29.8 Million Robbery, Kidnapping in Abuja

The Nigeria Police Force (NPF) has dismissed Inspector Adabo Mohammed for his alleged involvement in armed robbery, conspiracy, and kidnapping in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Abuja. This action follows investigations linking him to these criminal activities.

According to a statement released by the Force Public Relations Officer, ACP Olumuyiwa Adejobi, on Friday, Inspector Mohammed was identified as a member of an armed robbery gang that stole ₦29.8 million from a victim in the Gwagwalada area of Abuja. The statement further revealed that Mohammed and five accomplices were implicated in the kidnapping of Ikechukwu Emmanuel Okafor in the Tunga Manje area, for which they collected a ransom of ₦4.4 million.

The official statement reads, “Inspector Adabo Mohammed was dismissed for the offences of criminal conspiracy, armed robbery/kidnapping, and corrupt practice.” It continued, “The dismissed officer, along with five others, were members of an armed robbery gang responsible for the robbery of the sum of ₦29.8 million from a victim in Gwagwalada, FCT, as well as the kidnap of one Ikechukwu Emmanuel Okafor in Tunga Manje and the collection of a ransom sum of ₦4.4 million.”

Following his dismissal, Inspector Mohammed has been formally charged and brought before the court to face prosecution for his alleged crimes.
